Terms of use & disclaimer

About these terms
These terms apply to your use of the Flowcast website at riverdial.com, operated by the Flowcast site operator. By using the site you agree to them; if you do not agree, please do not use the site.
Information only
- Flow values come from the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) and are provisional: they have not been reviewed and are subject to revision. Gauges can be late, wrong, or offline.
- Status labels (“Fishable/Floatable”, “High but doable”, “Use caution”, “Blown out”, “Too low”) are generated by a computer comparing today's flow with that gauge's own history. They say nothing about hazards, water clarity, temperature, fish, dam releases or whether a particular stretch, boat or skill level is appropriate.
- Flows below dams and diversions are influenced by people, not just weather, and can change without notice.
- Hand-written notes and “typical uses” on river pages are general descriptions, not USGS data, and may be incomplete or out of date.
Your responsibility and risk
Fishing, wading and boating involve inherent risks, including serious injury and death. You are responsible for checking current conditions from local sources, following regulations and closures, wearing appropriate safety gear, and deciding whether to go. Flowcast does not endorse any river, outfitter, guide or product, and a listing or status is never a recommendation that conditions are safe.
No warranty; limited liability
The site is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, timeliness or fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Flowcast site operator is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for losses arising from your reliance on information on this site. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law (for example liability for fraud, or rights that consumers cannot waive).
Content and use
USGS data are U.S. Government works and generally in the public domain. Flowcast's own text, design, charts and compilation are protected by copyright. You may link to the site and quote short excerpts with attribution. Please do not scrape the site at a rate that burdens it, or present Flowcast statuses as official USGS products. Flowcast is not affiliated with or endorsed by the USGS or any government agency.
Sponsors, listings and affiliate links
Some pages may contain labelled sponsor placements, featured listings, or affiliate links. They never change a river's status or ranking. See the advertising and affiliate disclosure. We are not responsible for the content, products or services of third-party sites.
Changes
We may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
